Study the Past

Study the Past

Turkey Vultures are unique in many ways. Their body temperature runs much lower at night than in the day, which is why they bask in the morning sun.
Dennis Casebier took the original photos of the Goffs Vultures basking on the "Study the Past" gate, but they were taken from the rear, vultures being notably sharp-eyed and camera-shy. I went out at dawn and photographed the gate from the east in all its morning glory, and added Dennis' vultures.
