First light is orange and golden, and turns everything it touches into gold. But here there is no first light, the sunrise is behind the mountain. Instead the sky is bright, and in the still of dawn the shadowed water mirrors everything exactly, trees and sky and clouds. At the near edge, you can see the bottom of the lake through its reflections and clear water.
