Maruba

The sole source of this image is a tiny, blurry, low contrast old black and white photograph. Rendering it large and colorful was a frustrating job, and I gave up on it repeatedly. The little homesteader girl spent long periods of time standing with her face to the wall. But since she was, essentially, a commission, I always had to turn her back around. It wasn't until I adopted the Andrew Wyeth-esque color scheme that I really grew to like her.
