This composition actually resulted from a blending of two photos, one showing McClanahan alone in front of his cabin door framed by the joshua trees, and another closer up of the whole family with only the shadow of the trees. I understand the little boy, Buck McClanahan, grew up to be a cowboy for the Rock Springs Cattle Company, and at one time owned the Goffs Schoolhouse.
