The pier at Prisoner's Bay was waiting to be torn down and replaced. There was a large white sign on the end of it which I included, not knowing what it said. My daughter, who had supplied the photographs of the pier but no instructions, said "NO! NO! That says the pier's condemned! Take it off!" I took it off. There were people who loved the old pier. One of them bought the painting as its memorial.
